When disabled, it behaves like a mouse and I'm back to the old problem - drawing without pressure. Now the problem is, when enabled, the pen behaves erratic: when I touch the tablet it performs quick right-clicks and middle-clicks in rapid succession - brief appearance of the popup menu and the cross-arrow moving the view.

I can draw into the panel itself with sensitivity but that's about all.īy repeatedly installing/uninstalling the driver and messing with the registry ("SupportTabletPC" set to 0 or 1) I managed to bring the tablet up into GIMP (in extended input devices). The control panel from the system tray (lower right near the clock) works fine.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and for awhile the work around was having to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the tablet. I bought a Huion rechargeable pen which works well with this tablet, except the tablet no longer registers pressure sensitivity.

I've installed the driver 5.02 (D20131030_D20130918V3) which is for Windows 8 but it installed just fine. However a few months back the pen for this tablet stopped working as it was made very poorly. I checked out extended input devices - not in there I tried both with/without directx but all in vain. It doesn't show up in GIMP input devices. I can draw with it but as a mouse, ignoring pressure sensitivity. My curiosity: does anybody use this tablet with GIMP in Windows 10? I've searched on the web about it and couldn't get any working solution.

So kudos Newegg, wouldn't take much to damage this tablet due to its very thin size.I've been trying to make my Genius MousePen 8圆 tablet work with GIMP in Windows 10 all day long today. However have no regrets not hate on that, better safe then sorry. Last thing as well, Macro Manager and the Macro Buttons in a pain, if drawing or sketching, your cursor will constant jump to the "button" on the scree, solution just disable Macro Keys in the Macro Manager "it has a check box in there to do it".Īn to note, Newegg shipped it to me in a BIG box 5-7 times the size of the tablet box. So the fact it can last a year may be true, which is good imo. Batter is still strong that came with it and I use it often, last check with multimeter showed 1.52 volts. Side note, the pen goes to sleep after about 20 seconds of last "nib pushing", pressing the side buttons WILL NOT wake it up. The only exception is when I need to go higher grade and LPI + tilt, which then I would go intuos, but that is if I keep at what I am doing. Overall Review: This vs my Wacom Bamboo Fun, I wont ever touch a bamboo again. However, it all works fine as far as I can tell, so idc. It does not allow no customizing except the Macro Manager for the shortcut macro keys, as for pen buttons and pressure/tip settings, it does not have them. Lastly, the driver is ok, but really really poor. Though I assume when you need more pen nibs, its time for a new pen. Though have not been able to find replacement film/cover yet, same goes for pen nibs. The surface of the tablet can scratch easy, as far as that has not affected using it, I can still sketch and do well with no skipping or jitter. However the cable is fine other then that, could have been thicker, but then price would went up.
In all, a very large active area tablet that works perfect for sketching and other non professional things.Ĭons: The thing would be quite awesome if it had an detachable USB cable, but I cannot hold it since it DOES have a Velcro ribbon attached to help wrap cable back up. For best comparison to that, it is as thin or close to it as the end of a male USB "normal size" plug. It is more sturdy then it looks, but is quite thin.
#GENIUS TABLET PRESSURE SENSITIVITY NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 10 PLUS#
Honestly, it was well expected, plus the tiny thickness it has is a good thing. The pen is quite nicely sized and easy to handle. Pros: I have lately got back into art working, and while I do not know if I plan to say keep at it, this fit the budget nicely without breaking the bank. Hopefully there is a replacement somewhere out there, but I can survive with this pen as is! This tablet is a fantastic buy, especially for the price! The only down side is the pen feels pretty cheap. It's very thin and light without being too fragile to throw in my laptop case, and it looks good to boot! The sensitivity is better than my old Wacom, and it's wide format so it matches my monitor without distortion.
This was quite a lot more bang for my buck than I'd even hoped. For less than a third of what a new Intuos would cost, I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised! I finally came across the Genius G-Pen F610 here on NewEgg, which seemed to fit what I was looking for. I couldn't afford the several hundred dollars for a new Wacom, so I looked at cheaper alternatives like Aiptek, but none of them suited my needs and I heard plenty of horror stories. Overall Review: I've used many Wacoms, but I've only owned one (a 6x8 Intuos2) which gave out on me a while back.
